Sculpture restoration enters second phase
Master sthapathis from the Mahabalipuram tradition have begun work on the second tier of vimana sculptures.
The second phase of sculpture restoration began this week, with three master sthapathis from the Mahabalipuram tradition arriving on site. The team is using traditional tools and matching stone sourced from the original Chola-era quarries.
