THE TEMPLE'S STORY
A thousand years of prayer
Built in the 9th century under the Chola empire, on the banks of the Palar river, the temple has stood for over twelve centuries as a sanctuary devoted to Sri Kalyana Varadhar Perumal.
Time wore it down, and for years it stood unmaintained. Today, devotees have come together to undertake the sacred work of restoring this temple to its full glory.
